This initiative seeks to emphasize the importance of relationship that exists between intelligent communities and stray animals, specifically dogs and cats, that have increased in number during the COVID-19 pandemic. It attempts to reduce the number of stray dogs and cats, through promoting adoption and preventing abandonment and animal abuse.

There is a growing demand to develop electrical energy methods at low cost and in a sustainable way. A new clean energy source, abiotic alkaline cells is expected to be a next generation power device with many advantages such as low pollution and high efficiency. Abiotic alkaline cells are systems that allow the generation of electrical energy using organic compounds, strong bases, and mediators that aid in the transfer of electrons. The residual biomass from agricultural processes has not been explored so far as a substrate for this type of cells. Agricultural residues are substrates with the presence of polymeric carbohydrates that, under basic conditions, generate monomeric aldoses, susceptible to oxidation, generating electrons. The aldoses generated under basic conditions are oxidized to carboxylic acids, which when decarboxylated, transfer electrons to the medium. So it is of interest to know the effect of the concentration of potassium hydroxide, the residue of Mangiferaindica cv Haden, and the mediator (methyl viologen), in the generation of electrical energy in an abiotic cell with agricultural residues as substrate. They will define the appropriate conditions to obtain the maximum current density, power density, output voltage, and continuous generation of renewable electrical energy with a sustainable approach.

The hotels for bees are a structure like a drawer or shelf that allows to hold natural elements inside such as sticks, canes or logs, so that the insects have a place to nest or hibernate. This initiative seeks to create awareness about bees and the different models of hotels for bees, which can be from recyclable material with bottles and cardboard or a little more sophisticated with a wooden structure. The aim is to develop hotels for solitary bees with the purpose of conserving and preserving the different species of bees in the community.

Biofortifiers seek to improve the nutrient density of food crops, taking advantage of organic residues. This project focuses on the cultivation of radishes through the production of biofortificants mainly with bagasse, potato peel, banana peel, egg peel etc.

This initiative seeks to publicize the potential of solar farms, recognize its efficacy and disseminate hard and substantial information about what solar farms are, their impact, their development and their way of implementation in different countries of the world. In agriculture, it seeks to encourage an alternative in relation to land, energy and electricity. A mailbox of initiatives will be developed with youth at a later stage to make a collaborative work group.

This initiative encourages dialogue on the protection and defence of natural environment for a better quality of life among indigenous communities and looks for strategies to ensure a sustainable diet from existing resources. It will also promote the exchange of ideas on how indigenous communities can defend their rights that have been violated by capitalism, devastating their natural environment.

UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education and sustainable development. In this regard, the scope of theTacaná Volcano Binational Geopark Project aligns with the objectives of sustainable development promoting sustainable development in the region around the Tacaná Volcano, affecting Mexico and Guatemala. It works toward a comprehensive risk reduction management program, actions against climate change, appropriation of the territory by young people, and inclusion of geo-education content in the region’s school curriculum.
