POP Movement Tree Plantation Initiative

(A contribution to Attenborough Forest)

Attenborough Forest – named in honor of Sir David Attenborough who planted the forest’s symbolic first tree – is The Perfect World Foundation’s global tree planting initiative. The project plants trees around the world, spreads awareness to increase knowledge, alongside efforts aimed at forest conservation.

Attenborough Forest is a global multi-purpose tree planting and forest preservation project with the joint outcome of reducing CO2 in the atmosphere. We plant trees to save the rainforests, restore mangrove forests, create wildlife habitats, bring knowledge, work and food to local communities, revive biodiversity and fight climate change.

The POP Movement has partnered with The Perfect World Foundation to plant 16,000 trees as part of the Attenborough Forest across 3 locations—Malawi, India, and Zambia.

As part of its Youth and Community-Led Afforestation and Reforestation Initiative, the POP (Protect Our Planet) Movement aims to plant 16,000 trees in India, Malawi, and Zambia. The project seeks to increase green cover in the rural and urban landscapes of the targeted regions. The timeline of the project is August 2023 to February 2024.
