Uros S. Popadic
M.A., POP Trainee Mentor and Research Assistant
A Researcher and Analyst in Peace Studies and International Relations, Mr Popadic has focused on the role of major international organizations like the Non-Aligned Movement and the United Nations, studying their contribution to peace and development. He has focused on the role such organizations play not just in creating peace, but also in supporting the less developed areas of the world so that our planet could have sustainable and equally distributed socioeconomic progress supported by international political cooperation. He has published two books and several papers related to these issues. Having completed BA and MA degrees at the University of Belgrade in the fields of Diplomatic and Contemporary History, and an MA in Peace,Security,Development at the same university, he is pursuing a PhD in Peace Studies.
He works with the European Center for Peace and Development of the UN mandated University for peace and assists in the editing of its scientific journal. He also Coordinates the Global Urban Resilience project at the Center for the Study of Wicked problems of the Institute for Strategic Risk management. He is a full member of and contributor to the International Environmental Forum, and a Research Associate of the think tank PAX – Research center of the Americas, and a part of ICEAD in Belgrade (International Center for Agricultural and Ecological Development).
At the WSDF and the POP movement he is currently engaged in research into international climate policy and cooperation, and the popularization of science.
