Mwarwirana Sibonile
Sibonile Mwarwirana, a 54 year-old climate activist residing in Chimaninimani District, Manicaland Province in Zimbabwe. He completed his primary education at Fair Field Primary School in Chimanimani, then completed Secondary at Chimanimani Government High school. Sibonile has a diploma in permaculture from the Permaculture of Zimbabwe Harare. Sibonile has also attained a diploma Permaculture of Australia. He holds a two-year certificate of permaculture, certificate on nurseries skills, and certificate in natural farming system. Sibonile has been an extension worker on land use designs and a facilitator on urban food production (reuse of garbage on tree planting and nutritional mobile garden). Sibonile worked at Nyahode Union Learning Centre as a Senior Trainer on Permanent Agriculture. In 2014, he initiated a natural resources conservation program targeting on agroforestry management, watershed management, water and sanitation nursery skills, agro-ecology, apiculture, and acquire-culture. Then in 2018, he formed an organization namely RANARCO (Rainbow Natural Resource Conservation Organization) which facilitate planet protection, agro-ecology and inclusion. Currently, he is facilitating community development on planet protection/ tree planting, environmental crisis awareness, soil and water conservation, introduction and training’s on tree nurseries that will be used to rehabilitate the dilapidated area.(area affected by cyclone IDAI and deforested area).
