Dr. Priyanka Kochhar is a prominent sustainability leader in India’s built environment sector, with nearly 20 years of diverse professional experience. She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of The Habitat Emprise, a consultancy promoting sustainable habitats, where she oversees business strategy and provides executive leadership.
In addition to her leadership role at The Habitat Emprise, Dr. Kochhar lends her expertise to several prestigious organizations as an advisor, visiting faculty and mentor. These include serving as a Mentor for POP Habitat, Technical Advisor to UN-Habitat, Advisor to the India offices of Research Triangle Institute International, and Visiting Faculty at the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi.
Over the course of her career, Dr. Kochhar has made significant contributions to advancing sustainability across India’s architecture, construction and urban planning landscape. She played instrumental leadership roles in developing GRIHA, India’s nationally recognized green building rating system, as well as dramatically expanding adoption of USGBC’s LEED rating system across the country.
Dr. Kochhar has also held academic appointments teaching architecture, planning and sustainability subjects at institutions such as SPA Delhi and GGSIPU. Her research has explored topics spanning life cycle cost analysis of green buildings to healthcare infrastructure development.
With her extensive background spanning research, education, policymaking, business leadership and advisory roles, Dr. Priyanka Kochhar offers in-depth specialized expertise on sustainable habitat development. Her diverse perspective equips her to advise organizations
on implementing green building best practices and embedding sustainability principles into India’s built environment.
