Dr. Alka Pande, an esteemed art historian, and educator, shaped a three-decade journey fostering Indian arts, gender studies, and traditional aesthetics. Recognized internationally, she received accolades including the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters from France, Australian-India Council Special Award, and the CIMA Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Pande curated impactful exhibitions worldwide, directed the Habitat Photosphere, and pioneered museums. Her extensive writing reflects in numerous books and editorial roles. As a curator and consultant, she continues to enrich India’s artistic landscape, currently contributing to the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.
