Dr. Ajay Mathur
Dr. Mathur, previously Director General at TERI, served on India’s Council on Climate Change and co-chaired global initiatives like the Energy Transitions Commission and Clean Cooling Initiatives. Notable for pioneering energy efficiency programs, he led the Indian Bureau of Energy Efficiency, key in establishing energy-saving standards. As a leading climate negotiator, he represented India at the Paris climate talks and played a pivotal role at the Green Climate Fund. Educated at the University of Roorkee and University of Illinois, Dr. Mathur received accolades including the IPCC’s Nobel Peace Prize and the Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Merite from the President of France for environmental stewardship.
