This project pledges to care for and protect the environment through individual and collective action. It involves promoting sustainable lifestyle changes like refusing single-use plastics and adopting waste recycling practices. The authors work towards raising public awareness on large environmental impacts caused by individual actions and also perform market, social and  environmental analysis to interpret the results of lifestyle changes.

This initiative seeks to deal with the issue of littered waste on public roads by addressing the root of the problem which is lack of social consciousness.

This is an integrating project based on the pillars of sustainable development, which aims to develop functional biofilms with propolis extracts, to reduce the use of single-use plastics. This project has proven results in the laboratory. It aims to be implemented at a large scale, beginning with Sonora, México.

This study focuses on the disposal of waste from self-care products used by vulnerable communities for their sexual and reproductive health. Self-care products are made up of artificially synthesized materials like latex rubber, plastic, silicon polymers, dioxins, fibers, polyvinyl acetate, ethinylestradiol, levonorgestrel, depomedroxyprogesterone, norethisterone, and silastic material which are harmful to the environment. Over half of the world’s population is now at risk because of untreated self-care waste. Sustainability priorities for vulnerable communities regarding the disposal of self-care products depend on social, cultural, political and economic phenomenon that undercut the fundamental needs and rights of a person/community. This project presents a model that could be implemented in regions to overcome the challenges faced by vulnerable communities with respect to self-care product waste disposal.

The objective of this project is to teach how to prepare food for a sustainable diet respecting the environment and one’s health. The Xhocatli project demonstrated how each person can produce organic chocolates and handmade marzipan at home.

This project functions based on the concept of interrelation between doubting, questioning and learning. Conveying the importance of teamwork and collective efforts for building a strong movement, it conducts different activities that form a green puzzle. The students leading this project have designed a collective mural for creating environmental awareness. Proposals have been made on identifying potential areas for vertical plantations, which can be made with a sustainable urban model that focuses on adaptation measures to climate change.

The study seeks to explain how global warming has been the result of anthropogenic activities like transportation, consumerism etc. It teaches one to perform a spectrum calculation of their carbon footprint with respect to the disposal of wastes from self-care products.

This study seeks to address the issues of beach litter and seaweed menace by proposing strategies for their management. It focuses on the categorical efforts required for ‘Blue Flag’ certification, which is an international recognition conferred on beaches meeting certain criteria of cleanliness and environmental propriety. To specifically address the issue of beach litter, it proposes recycling as the strategy for beach goers to manage their own waste.

This initiative is lead by a team of teenage girls from the Tahoe Expedition Academy who are working with restaurants and hotels in Nevada to eliminate plastics. They provide guidelines to local business enterprises on ways to avoid single-use plastics and raise awareness on the need to protect the planet from plastic pollution.
