At the POP Movement, we define Initiatives as those that are country-based, as they are more geographically representative. All POP Initiatives are supported by the POP Movement in the form of seed grants and mentorship. On the other hand, Projects are those conceived and led by youth leaders independently. These projects have been showcased at the POP Movement, and some of them receive mentorship and support.
It is important to note that there may be multiple POP Projects, but there is just one POP Initiative per country

During the school sensitization, the team discovered that some of the children lack footwear to complete their uniforms as they are often barefooted. As a result of this, POP Nigeria team decided to carry out a community Development Project tagged KIT-A-KID-A-SANDAL with the vision to provide secondary school children in Osogbo grammar school and Nawarudeen high school with school sandals.
The project aimed to cater for children from grade 7 to grade 12, for at least 500 children with school sandals and stationaries. This initiative stemmed from the desire to empower these students starting with their basic need of necessary footwear. More so, it is hoped to establish some appropriate channels to service the needs of children from low-income homes who have little to no support. And with the invaluable assistance, the team could encourage these children on the right path by sending them a message that someone out there beyond their parents’ care is interested in seeing them succeed against all odds.
