On October 20, 2021, Drishya Pathak, POP Youth Mentor participated at an interactive session titled, “Youth, Science and Climate Action” ahead of COP26 with H.E. Frans Timmermans, Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal, European Commission. The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), in collaboration with European Union delegation to India organised the special session emphasising on the amplification of youth voices and the urgent need to raise climate action and ambition. In line with this, the session saw youth representatives ask questions to H.E Mr. Frans Timmermans on climate finance, adaptation, gender responsive climate solutions, meaningful climate action, technological support for greener solutions and the race beyond Net Zero.

While presenting at the session, Drishya Pathak mentioned that the POP Movement is working with youth from across 90 countries and conducting awareness and capacity building programs. Members of the European Union Delegation present at the event expressed their interest to support the POP Movement in establishing networks with European Universities to upscale their efforts.
