On February 18, 2021 POP Youth Mentor Vanessa Hernández was invited to participate in the panel discussion titled, “Global Youth Networks” organized by the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and Youth Leadership Network. The session was a part of WAAS@60 Conference on 'A PLANETARY MOMENT' and General Assembly that was held online commemorating the founding of the Academy in 1960. The panelists included Ivana Lazarovski, Associate, NALED; JFWAAS, Dina Dragija, Founder & Vice President, Youth Leadership Network, JFWAAS; Vanessa Hernández, Youth Mentor at POP Movement; Margianta Surahman Juhanda Dinata, Founder and Executive Director of Emancipate Indonesia; Olena Bekreniova, Director, Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Family Foundation; AFWAAS, Federica Donati, Member, Youth Leadership Network; JFWAAS, and moderated by Jodi Cullity, Head of Partnerships, Youth Leadership Network; JFWAAS
The session aimed to explore strategies to create a global network of networks linking together youth organizations. Some of the questions that were discussed during the session were; What would be the essential requirements? What steps can WAAS and the Youth Leadership Network take to create such a global alliance? During the panel discussion, Vanessa shared what she has identified through her experience working on creating partnerships with institutions, organizations, governments, companies, and communities. She shared key items that are necessary which all the sectors of society need to improve and care for, in order to not leave anyone behind.
