#WriteforChange: POP-Pixstory at COP26

On November 12 and 13, 2021, climate stories that were collected from across the world through a POP-Pixstory initiative were disseminated in the blue and green zones of the COP26 venue in Glasgow. The distribution of posters engaged audiences at different pavilions on the widespread impact of climate change and generated awareness on the urgency of the task at hand.
Ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, the POP Movement had partnered with Pixstory, a new social media platform, for a unique climate change awareness campaign titled “Write for Change” to bring about a change in the climate debate. From floods and hurricanes to wildfires and drought — climate activists, experts, and storytellers documented the ongoing impacts of climate change.
The campaign was kicked off on September 15, 2021 with a vision to reach 1.8 billion youth around the world, and to collect one million climate change stories, from 195 countries, over the course of 45 days in the lead up to COP26. The stories sought to explore the science, the nuances, the misinformation, the opportunities, the personal experiences, and much, much more to be presented at COP26 in Glasgow in November, 2021.
