November 15, 2022

Activity No 13

On November 15, 2022, Levy and his team organized an awareness-building and capacity-building activity. The event took place at Kamanga Primary School in Zambia, and it involved a tree planting initiative in collaboration with their long-term partners, Needs for Orphans Foundation, United People Global, UN MGCY, and the Ministry of Education.
A total of 97 school students participated in the event, which focused on the theme of Green Economy and aimed to highlight the advantages of adopting environmentally friendly practices. The sessions were led by six speakers, namely:

  1. Lauren Kangwa
  2. Bwanali Zimba
  3. Blessingtone Lweendo
  4. Ngosa Mando Mukpo
  5. Bornwell Lungu
  6. Mapalo Banda

The objective of the sessions was to emphasize the benefits of going green and promote a sustainable future. During the event, the learners were not only encouraged to plant trees but also received re-education on the significance of tree planting and its role in reversing environmental damage.

As a result of the initiative, five trees were successfully planted, contributing to the overall effort of creating a greener environment.

“Learners were called to plant with us and re-educated on the importance of the tree planting activity and how it helps to reverse the damage.”  Levy Nyirenda.
