On March 22, 2024 Drishya Pathak, Manish Gupta, and Remigius Fernades took the mission of planting 5,000 plants with youth to being in Delhi. The Tree Plantation with Youth initiative orchestrated a tree planting activity that served as both an Awareness Building and Capacity Building session. More than 2,000 saplings found their new home at Welcome Jheel Park, planted by a group of 60 participants. Among them were 40 youth from various schools and colleges, accompanied by 20 enthusiastic adults. The responsibility of maintenance and watering has been collaboratively undertaken with the Municipal Corporation Delhi, and the event was overseen by an area Municipal Corporator and a Senior Officer from the Municipal Corporation.

The event, held at Jheel Park, Welcome, New Delhi, was attended by students from four schools and universities, spanning ages 12 to 45. Participants included school students, teachers, government officials, and college students.

The event kicked off with a harmonious blend of Yoga and Meditation, graced by the presence of Mr. Ghanshyam Singh, Senior Officer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, and Mr. Rajesh Suji, Municipal Corporator of the Zone.

Throughout the half-day affair, the youth were educated on the significance of tree plantation. They also received training on identifying various plant species and learned techniques for their maintenance.

A particularly noteworthy moment occurred when a student from The Modern School single-handedly planted over 50 saplings, while others contributed an average of 30 plants each. This collective effort exemplified dedication towards safeguarding and nurturing our environment for future generations.
