Happy Mbewe, the representative of the POP Movement in Malawi, joined forces with Kuwanju Malemu – Senior Group Village Head Masinde, Yasin Adam – Lead Farmer, and collaborated with government officials Dadley Chilaya, Eric Nambindo, and Mark Msuku in organizing a capacity building activity at Mataka Village, T/A Mlomba, Machinga district, Malawi. The primary objective of this initiative was to provide essential resources and tools for the establishment of tree nurseries.

During the event, the three farmer groups responsible for managing the tree nurseries received support in the form of various resources, including wheelbarrows, buckets, shovels, nursery tubes, rakes, water canes, and water taps. The overall goal was to instill confidence in farmers, encouraging their active participation in the tree nursery raising project. The intended impact was to underscore the value of climate financing for viable initiatives, aiding in climate restoration efforts.

The event garnered the participation of various stakeholders, including traditional leaders, local communities, and youth, with a total of 19 attendees.
