The POP Movement is delighted to share the inspiring work of Esteban Salazar Rodríguez and his dedicated team in Sinaloa, Mexico, with the support of the Sowing Life Program. A series of Reforestation Workshops recently concluded, bringing together participants from 23 Community Action Committees (CACs) in Badiraguato, 4 in Culiacán, and 6 in Mocorito.

The workshops not only focused on sustainable agricultural practices—including citrus and prickly pear pruning, creating Bocashi from cactus, pest traps, and hibiscus cultivation—but also created inclusive spaces for reflection and community building.

Alongside these trainings, Esteban Salazar Rodríguez and his team continue to work with local farmers to grow beans, onions, corn, carrots, chilies, spices, and to establish greenhouses that support mountain reforestation. Their collective efforts are strengthening both environmental resilience and community empowerment across the region.
