Raising Community Youth within the Korle Klottey Municipality as Energy Transition Advocates
June 26, 2025

The Strategic Youth Network for Development Ghana (SYND), in partnership with NADMO Korle Klottey is proud to announce the launch of an inspiring new initiative aimed at empowering young people to champion Ghana’s energy transition.
This project will equip 60 community youth—at least 60% of whom will be young women—with the knowledge, skills, and advocacy tools to become Energy Transition Advocates within the Municipality.
With 73.5% of Ghana’s population under the age of 36, the youth represent a powerful force that will soon be shaping national policies and driving innovation. As District and Municipal Assemblies prepare to develop their next 4-Year Medium Term Development Plans (MTDPs), this project seeks to create clear entry points for youth participation in these critical processes.
By engaging young people in energy transition planning, the project aims to unlock significant opportunities—from green jobs to climate solutions and environmental sustainability.
Running as a pilot from June to November 2025, the initiative will generate valuable lessons and insights to inform how this approach can be scaled up and replicated across other Assemblies nationwide.
At SYND, we believe in the power of youth not only to hold duty bearers accountable but also to shift narratives and lead transformative change, powered by their creativity and commitment.
Together, we can build a future where young voices drive a just and sustainable energy transition for all.
