Quarantine Eco-Projects: POP-CUCEI Festival
June 11, 2020 - June 12, 2020
Aiming to provide a platform for students from the University of Guadalajara to present their environmental projects, Quarantine Eco-Projects Festival was organized by POP Youth Mentor, Vanessa Anahi Hernández Vázquez along with Ana Esther Carrillo Gómez, Aida Elizabeth Mendoza Alvarez and Michael del Rosario Herrera García from the University Center for Exact Sciences and Engineering (CUCEI), University of Guadalajara. The Festival on June 11-12, 2020 was a celebration of World Environment Day, as it motivated young people to take advantage of their time at home during quarantine and Protect Our Planet by contributing to the community.
The festival also served to promote synergies between young people of different ages and university centers from the University of Guadalajara. It was attended by 50 students from different university centers such as CUCEI, CUCSUR, CUVALLES, CULAGOS, CUSUR, CELEG, and some high schools including the Ciudad Guzmán Regional High School.
A total of nine experts evaluated the sixteen projects that were presented by the students. The evaluation rubric consisted of research protocol, project presentation, social and environmental benefit, relevance, viability, sustainability, and originality.

- Collection of atmospheric water for sustainable use
- Implementation of reinforcing technique with biodegradable character from low-density polyethylene and plant remains.

QUARANTINE ECO - PROJECTS
With the purpose of promoting the environmental projects created by the students of the University of Guadalajara. POP Movement CUCEI.
CALLS
To the undergraduate degrees, masters and PhD students of the University of Guadalajara interested in caring for the environment. To participate in the contest of sustainable projects. The event will take place on June 11 and 12 of 2020 within the framework of the World Environment Day, Through the zoom platform.
REQUIREMENTS
All projects that contribute to the conservation and protection of the environment may participate.
- The member or members must be active upper level students of the University of Guadalajara.
- The projects must be registered in the google form from May 17 to June 05, 2020.
Evaluation criteria:
- We will pay particular attention to innovative projects.
- Social and environmental benefit.
- Relevance and viable.
- Organization of dissemination actions within the project's university center.
- Forecast of means and actions to guarantee the sustainability of the project.
- Possibility of replicating the project in other campuses.
A maximum of 25 projects will be received.
Prizes:
- All participants will receive a diploma.
- The winners will receive surprise prizes.
