On July 27, 2021, POP Senior Mentor, Dr. Ash Pachauri, participated in a panel discussion organized by Maharishi International University, Iowa. The event was led by the President of the university, Dr. John Hagelin, and Dr. Raja Luis, Chief Administrator for Latin America & the Caribbean, Global Country of World Peace.

Other speakers at the panel included Her Excellency Suzanne Camelia-Römer, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles (1993; 1998-1999); Mrinalini (Lani) Ingram, CEO and President, Verizon Smart Communities; Pat Reed, transformational coach; Jose Luis Ramirez Leon, Ambassador and Advisor, Organization of American States (OAS); and Dr. Tony Nader, as special guest.

The panelists discussed the role of consciousness in addressing global governance and leadership issues, in addition to the world’s most pressing challenges. They explored ways to develop and promote consciousness. With the collective guidance of the panel, Maharishi International University decided to jointly plan a grand symposium with global leaders in the fall.
