The POP Movement has partnered with The United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) for an upcoming international e-conference on Global Leadership in the 21st Century: Strategies for Transformative Global Leadership. This conference scheduled from June 15-19, 2020 aims to examine catalytic transformative strategies required to address pressing global challenges and to foster the emergence of global leadership needed for the 21st century. Notable leaders like Tatiana Valovaya, Director General of UNOG, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, World Health Organization; Federico Mayor, Director-General of UNESCO (1987 to 1999), Emil Constantinescu, President of Romania (1996 to 2000) and Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, President of Latvia (1999-2007) will be present to deliver the keynote addresses at the conference. Apart from that, diplomats, educators, researchers, business leaders, and heads of leading civil society and youth organizations will also participate in the event and speak about pressing global challenges such as health, education, ecology and climate, peace and security, finance etc.
Among 200 leaders and 40 sessions, the POP Movement will organize special youth sessions, including a workshop on Youth Leadership Development for Climate Action Across Continents in the COVID-19 Situation and a panel on Impacts of Climate Change and COVID-19, in coastal areas.
In a build-up to a major two-day conference at UNOG, Geneva in October 2020, this conference will work towards creating a pathway for future leadership, as it seeks to address the global leadership vacuum, reverse reactionary trends, and direct global society towards a new paradigm in human development.
