The POP Nigeria working group meeting was held on June 2, 2021 via Zoom to discuss plans for environmental advocacy.

The coordinator, Samuel C. Okorie stated that his initial plan of going around the geo-political zone of the country to carry out advocacy had been halted due to political conditions of the nation. Instead, he had opted for a secondary plan, according to which individuals residing in selected areas would be mandated to undertake the campaign. For this purpose, four regions were identified; two from the North, and two from the South.

He also said that schools should be used for the campaign, instead of public places, as they were more secure. He further expressed his opinions on what to teach students; how to make a garden and dry land, economic importance of trees, and climate education and sustainability. He added that each leader would be trained alongside his/her team on training using POP modalities.
