On the night of September 19, 2023, Daughters For Earth in partnership with the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW), Vital Voices, and Surya and the Moon, orchestrated a remarkable climate event at Urban Zen, New York City, during New York Climate Week 2023.

The POP mentors Dr. Ash Pachauri, Dr. Norma Muñoz, Dr. Saroj Pachauri, and Ana Hanhausen attended the gathering to celebrate women’s collective efforts in mitigating climate change and the launch of “The Hummingbird Effect”, a campaign to showcase women’s climate leadership through graphic novels.

Uniting the brilliance and passion of women empowerment, the POP (Protect Our Planet) team also shared quality time with esteemed figures, such as the former president of the Republic of Mauritius, H.E. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim; the General Director of TERI, Vibha Dhawan; the co-founder of Daughters For Earth, Zainab Salbi; and the vice president of Vital Voices, Manira Alva, adding an extra layer of significance to the evening, which brought an inspiring exchange of ideas.

Daughters For Earth’s event emphasized the transformative impact of female unity in advocating for sustainable change.
