On June 30, 2019, in a forest near, the capital city of Ukraine, more than 300 young students and teenagers came together to officially launch the POP Movement in the country. United by a single vision in this event of festivity and delight, young people joined hands and enthusiastically engaged in activities and games, and put forth creative installations on the Sustainable Development Goals. They were supported and encouraged by the presence of representatives from civil society organizations and leaders in business and academia.

The event began with addresses from honored guests including representatives of World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), Thomas Reuter and Natalia Pogozheva, and the Head of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Alyona Voloshina. A press conference was held with media and representatives of founding organizations on the following day.

As a first move, POP/ Ukraine has kickstarted a competition for students between the ages 18 and 24 to come up with innovative sustainability projects. The best project will have the opportunity to be presented at the International Conference and POP Festival in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico in August 2019.
