POP embarked its journey of eight years this Earth Day filled with gratitude, unwavering support, and commitment to #ProtectOurPlanet. Together, we have formed a global, diverse family dedicated to meaningful climate action that also recognizes the vital role of youth in shaping the future.

The road to a sustainable future is fraught with significant challenges. The recent Synthesis Report of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) starkly highlights that current global efforts fall short of limiting warming to the essential threshold of 1.5°C by 2030. Without urgent and decisive action, our common future will be marked by extreme events such as intense droughts, water scarcity, severe fires, rising sea levels, and other devastating consequences.

Our Chief Mentor and Co-Founder, the Nobel Prize Laureate and Former Chairman of the IPCC, Lt. Dr. Rajendra K. Pachauri, wisely stated, “Nobody on this planet is going to be untouched by the impacts of climate change.” This shared vulnerability underscores the need for collective action, innovation, and commitment to environmental stewardship.

At POP Movement, we believe there’s a small window of opportunity, rapidly closing, that demands collective action. By harnessing the power of community, knowledge, diversity, technology, and policy, we can forge a way towards resilience and safeguard our planet for generations to come.

Thus far, we are spanning 129 countries, reaching over 2,000,000 individuals, and collaborating with 431 organizations. Together, we have spearheaded 250 climate projects and empowered youth by conducting more than 1,000 capacity-building workshops. Yet, we acknowledge that these accomplishments are just a fraction of what is needed to mitigate the damage to our Earth. We need YOU to turn that window of opportunity into a brighter and greener future.
