POP at UNAM

The POP Movement addressed students of UNAM at their chemistry faculty on February 22, 2019. The chemistry faculty at UNAM are pioneers of the POP Movement in Mexico and initiated youth-led action to Protect our Planet in 2016,. Students from various departments including architecture, economics, and chemistry attended the 3-hour, interactive session. Students and faculty engaged in discussions about issues pertaining to climate change, its impacts in already being felt in Mexico, and the importance of youth-led action on scale. Aldo, a young leader at POP-UNAM discussed his experience with the Movement, his engagement with POP’s global teams including those in Germany, and his participation at the World Sustainable Development Forum events in Mexico City and Sweden in 2018.
