On February 20, 2020, POP youth from Nigeria, Samuel Chijioke Okorie and his team paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner, Dr. G. E. Amanke, Permanent Secretary of Education, Mrs. Aniedie B. Ekpenyong and Director for Schools, Mrs. Charity Ottoho in Cross River State, Nigeria. The need to educate people about climate change and responsible climate actions was discussed with proposed target persons being primary and high school students. This was rooted in the belief that students are more enthusiastic towards positive climate actions and have the potential to effect change at all levels, starting from home. The Commissioner assured his full cooperation and assistance to the team.
