The POP Nigeria Initiative organized a three-week climate education project at Nnewichi Community Primary School, and Nnewichi Community Secondary School in the state of Anambra from May 27, 2021.

The project aimed to train teachers and educate students on the topics of climate change, waste management, sustainability, and the green economy. As part of the project, the POP team donated seedlings of economic plants to be grown in the classrooms, in order to promote students’ relationship with nature. In addition to this, some economic trees were planted on the school grounds. The objective of these measures was to teach them diverse forms of wealth generation and creation of employment through the green economy. The project saw the participation of a thousand people including students and teachers.
