Activity 06: On March 31, Dr. Chiemeze Atama organized the Climate Education Program for Secondary school students at Edem Ani Technical College in Nsukka. This impactful event was made possible through the collaboration of NGOs like Ploggers Nigeria and educational institutions like Edem Ani Technical College. The panelists, including Dr. Chiemeze Atama, Aniputa Chidera, Sarah Nwankwo, and Ndu Chimdidu Chisom, provided valuable insights and engaged in a healthy conversation about climate change and environmental sustainability. The program served as a safe and inclusive space for participants to deepen their awareness and understanding of these critical issues. One of the significant outcomes of the event was the increased confidence of the participants to take meaningful climate actions. By equipping them with knowledge and empowering them to make a difference, we are making an impact on multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The program was attended by a diverse group of undergraduate students, with a total of 66 participants, comprising 30 males and 36 females. Their active involvement and enthusiasm highlighted the importance of fostering environmental consciousness among the youth. Together, we are sowing the seeds of environmental stewardship and paving the way for a sustainable future.
