Climate Education at Chelston Secondary School

September 14, 2022

As a part of the climate education and tree planting project, another activity was conducted “Sustainability and its Importance” with an objective to promote sustainable living at the Chelstone Secondary School in Lusaka, Zambia with the support of Ministry of Education in Zambia and Needs for Orphans Foundation, United People Global, and UN MGCY. During the activity, students pledged to live sustainably and about 300+ students were educated on the impact and consequences of climate change while promoting sustainable living by the Zambia facilitators Levy Nyirenda, Gift Mwanza, Blessington Lweendo, Philip Chilukusha, Alex Sibanda, and Titus Mabuya

During the activities, a knowledge gap was identified as some learners lacked information, especially the junior secondary who did not know what SDGs are and the impact of climate change.
