5th Edition Civilization Rights Day

June 10, 2025

The POP Movement proudly joined the 5th Civilization Rights Day—a momentous occasion that now coincides with the UN’s newly declared International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, a date long championed by the Civilization Rights Institute (CRI).

Held across time zones from New York to Tokyo, this global Zoom gathering marked five years of CRI’s tireless advocacy and visionary leadership.

Highlights from the Celebration:

🔹 Reflections on CRI’s five-year journey and impact
🔹 Exciting announcements including the Great Pyramids Challenge and the 2026 Global Summit
🔹 A global call to action for new partnerships to advance civilization rights
🔹 Personal 5-minute spotlight stories from participants, sharing lived experiences and inspiring commitments.

The event was a vibrant demonstration of unity, purpose, and shared hope for a future where dialogue among civilizations becomes a foundation for peace and progress.

On June 10, as the United Nations marked the first-ever International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, I was honored to join the Civilization Rights Institute (CRI) —our valued partner at The POP (Protect Our Planet) Movement— to reflect on a journey we’ve shared for years.

At CRI’s event, we looked back on the evolution of the Universal Declaration of Civilization Rights and the values that continue to inspire this global movement. I had the privilege of reaffirming POP’s commitment to civilization rights—a vital complement to the spirit of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially in promoting peace, inclusion, and global cooperation.

I’m deeply grateful to Dr. Tarek Rashed, Prof. Ahmed Rashed, and the CRI team for recognizing POP’s role and for their tireless efforts in championing this cause. Let’s continue to stand together — for dialogue, dignity, and a future built on mutual respect.

-Dr. Ash Pachauri, Co-Founder and Senior Mentor, POP Movement
