Planting Today for a More Sustainable Tomorrow
01 August 2026

On 01 August 2026, children in Obiaruku, Delta State, Nigeria, took part in a hands-on pineapple planting activity designed to introduce them to the idea of responsible consumption and the importance of giving back to nature.
Led by Kingsley Osajie, The activity involved 12 children aged 4–12 years, who joyfully participated in planting 16 pineapple stocks. Through the simple act of planting, the children learned that fruits can offer more than just food—we can also make use of what remains after consumption and return it to the earth rather than simply throwing it away.
The activity supported SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), while giving children an early and practical understanding of sustainability, food production and caring for the environment.
