Kasike Kalaan

Kalaan Nibonrix Kaiman, also known as Robert Pairman, is the Kasike (Chief) of Yamaye Gunaí (Jamaican Hummingbird) Taíno Peoples. He serves as the Caribbean Region Organizer for Peace and Dignity Journeys and holds memberships in key indigenous organisations. As an Indigenous rights activist, Chief Kalaan advocates for recognition and rights not only for his people in Jamaica but also for Indigenous communities across the West Indies and globally. He represents Yamaye/Jamaican Taíno traditions internationally.
