POP National Coordinator / Director Manica Youth Assembly
Jussa is a community development practitioner and Founding Director of Manica Youth Assembly (MAYA), a youth-led organization driving change in Manicaland, Zimbabwe. With expertise in strategic monitoring and evaluation, community facilitation, and environmental climate justice, he empowers marginalized youth to advocate for accountability, transparency, and environmental protection.
Under his leadership, MAYA has planted trees, participated in the COP15 Ramsar Convention, and campaigned for fossil fuel phase-out and a just energy transition. He currently spearheads the Green Innovation for Urban Resilience Project, promoting sustainable youth-led food enterprises in Mutare District. He also serves as a Zimbabwe POP Movement Mentor, guiding young people on environmental protection, waste management, and sustainable practices aligned with UN SDGs. Additionally, he is active as Country Representative for the Global Tree Initiative.
As a strong advocate for constitutional rights, he champions Section 73 on environmental protection and Section 298 on transparent public finance management. Jussa equips communities to pursue better governance and service delivery, positioning himself as a committed voice for youth and marginalized groups in Zimbabwe.
