Jean Félix EBO’O
Jean Félix EBO’O is a Youth Climate Ambassador for the United Nations Constitutional Research Center (CUNCR) and the Founding President and Coordinator of the environmental association, Amis de la Planète du Cameroun (APC).
In 2010, APC (Friends of the Planet of Cameroon) was the winner of the international competition “Peace and Cooperation School Prize 2010” for the establishment of environmental associations fighting against climate change. The competition was organized by a Spanish NGO, “Paz y Cooperacion”. Among 53 participating countries, 19 were selected, and the APC finished in seventh place, and first in Africa. In 2011, APC was the vice-world champion in Mundialito Dubai 2011, organized by the same Spanish NGO and supported by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education, under the theme: “all against climate change”.
Jean Félix has been the coordinator of the “Ecological Olympics” project by the Amis de la Planète du Cameroun since 2013. He is the promoter of the first international exhibition on “art and nature” in collaboration with the Spanish Hispanic Alliance Foundation. He is also the promoter of the sanitation and decongestion project of the drains of the cities of Cameroon. He was a participant in the first national meetings on waste management in Cameroon in April 2016 at the Palais des Congrès; supervisor of the school club “Green School of el Jadida” in Morocco; and facilitator of the Participatory Budget Program in the district of Yaoundé funded by the European Union. As a Youth Climate Ambassador for the United Nations Constitutional Research Center (CUNCR), he is the CUNCR focal point for French-speaking countries, supervisor of the CUNCR Carbon Offsetting project, and CUNCR Social Media Manager. He is a Member of the European Youth Parliament on Water and, in 2021, he participated in the 26th Climate Conference of Parties in Glasgow, Scotland.
