H.E. Dr. Erik Solheim

H.E. Erik Solheim, former UN Environment Programme Executive Director and Norwegian Minister, pioneered sustainable development. Advocating for aid to least-developed nations, he catalyzed partnerships like the Sustainable Development Investment Partnership. His tenure witnessed Norway’s record aid and groundbreaking environmental legislation. A peace negotiator in Sri Lanka and contributor to global peace efforts, Solheim earned accolades including UN Environment’s Champions of the Earth award and TIME Magazine’s Hero of the Environment. He’s authored three books and holds a degree from the University of Oslo.
