The POP Movement is the initiative of Dr. R.K. Pachauri, who was the founding Chief Executive of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and the founding Director of the Yale Climate and Energy Institute (YCEI). During the period 2002-2015 he was Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), on whose behalf he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007. Dr. Pachauri has 26 honorary PhDs, distinguished awards from the governments of India, Belgium, Finland, Japan, Mexico, Italy, Somaliland, etc., and has more than 20 books (and has contributed to more than 10 books) and around 150 published papers and around 150 articles to his credit. Dr. Pachauri’s connect with youth across the world and his concern for their future is the driving force behind the POP Movement.
