The working group on climate change is a project driven by young people from the Durban University of Technology in South Africa which aims to address climate issues and work towards the SDGs through various activities within Durban. The activities serve as a mode of education not only in the university but also in the larger area of Durban. The knowledge and information disseminated by the group helps inform and educate the people of Ethekwini.

The program aims to teach school students to apply the theoretical and practical classes related to sustainable development goals and their targets. Largely targeting 5 schools located in Lalitpur, the virtual session of the program is open to everyone interested in learning about the SDGs and provides an opportunity to involve youth in different goals and targets. This program has been initiated by Center for Environment Education Nepal (CEEN) in collaboration with Awarness360 and Eco-network.

Eco-warrior Kenya is a blog based on the real-life experiences of a Kenyan girl on a journey to fully transitioning to a green lifestyle, in the hopes of inspiring young people (the majority of her readers) to also follow this path. The initiative is currently working on a segment for children named, “MashujaaWadogo” (Swahili for Little Heroes). This is a curriculum that breaks down complex topics to elementary school children such as sustainable energy, extinction and pollution. The aim is to teach them early enough so that they become eco warriors and are better informed and equipped in their choices and actions.

Furthermore, a children’s book series is currently being drafted on the same. The MashujaaWadogo curriculum has the potential to be scaled-up and replicated in schools in different counties within Kenya.

A Coffee for the Planet is a podcast where the objective is to create a transparent and informed space through interviews with experts and green influencers, with the main focus to portray what conscious consumption looks like, how one can adopt it, and what will happen to the environment if we don’t. Through a series of episodes every week, this podcast provides tangible information on how to adopt a conscious consumption approach into one’s life and become an ecological game changer.

This initiative is dedicated towards environmental education and creating awareness on waste generation, management, and recycling in the city of Durango. The coordinators of this project who are students intend to set up a non-governmental organization that exclusively addresses this.

The objective of this project is to construct a permaculture lifestyle in the community, designing an innovative framework for sustainable ways of living that also integrates the notion of earth ship. The initiative focuses on the implementation of sustainable food production measures that reduces food wastage in the early stage of the supply chain and regulates consumption.

This project was conceived in Lagos de Moreno in memory of the elderly, to recover the values ​​and emblematic areas of the town; it will be possible by using the PET and with the help of the citizens. Nets with plastic bottles will be made and placed in the drains. The garbage collected through this will be stored and appropriately treated. The pilot will include creating bottle dog feeders and enabling garbage separation.

This project seeks to genetically modify the fungus Trichoderma spp. to give it the ability to synthesize the MHETase and PETase enzymes that are necessary for the degradation of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET Plastic).

Low density polyethylene (LDPE) takes from 100 to 400 years to degrade, it is also the third most produced plastic with a demand of 17.5% according to (PEMRG) and (GmbHt). The degradation of polymers is a complex process that can be initiated in multiple ways. In this project, an implementation is proposed that reduces the amount of LDPE in the environment and at the same time makes it more biodegradable.
