“From an early age, I have been interested in issues where I can help and contribute to achieving a better world, especially the rights of not only humans, but also of nature and animals. My life’s purpose is to change the world and reach the hearts of people, improving their habits by being a positive leader. Thanks to the POP Movement, I have managed to meet many people from different cultures, ethnic groups, countries, and languages. Being able to learn and nurture myself through them has been most enriching. Each activity has given me knowledge, which I then impart to society. There is no better legacy than setting an example and never giving up, being a light to the world that acclaims our conscience and action. I, Gabriela Madrid González, have faith that every little action becomes gigantic and together we are more. It is never too late to start being a leader, and more so, when it comes to preserving our family: Mother Earth.”

Due to the political and economic crisis in his country, he had to move to a smaller school which allowed him to experience the social contrast in Venezuela and feel the reality that the vast majority of citizens live through. Thus, he began to volunteer as a teacher and discovered his passion for education. After his graduation, he started visiting orphanages to teach children English language, reading and literature, and mathematics, and helped in mobilizing resources for their maintenance. A member of the Red Cross, he has also led various activities in conjunction with community residents in order to restore the green and public spaces. At present, he continues to contribute towards the education of low-income children and young people in his city, and has been able to teach and take the performing arts to them in other cities as well. My goal is that my voice and my words become actions. I wish to have the ability to educate and raise awareness in society, precisely to combat ignorance, and thus, to be able to protect the home that was given to us.
