Formal Education Project – Marmara University, Turkey

This initiative works toward the empowerment of the Almajiri community in Kano State, Nigeria by providing formal education, motivating students to go to school, increasing the community’s literacy rate by 70% by the year 2030 and consequently, lessen their indulgence in crime. The goal of this project is to address the structural barriers to education and equality of the Almajiriswho are placed in a disadvantaged position such as conflict, poverty, house-to-house begging, and hawking.
