POP Festival 2020

The Second International Conference & POP Festival for Youth-Led Climate Action will be held online on December 3 and 4, 2020, with expected participation from more than 55 countries.

Stimulating the ever-growing scale of youth-led actions around the world, the POP Festival seeks to be a diversity-friendly platform where stakeholders from all the sectors and sections of the society assemble to share their ideas of innovation and futuristic solutions to combat the threatening issues of the environment. The POP Movement alongside H.E. Dra. Rosalía Arteaga, the former President of Ecuador and Executive Director, Fundación Fidal; the Government of Durango, Mexico; and the Venezuela-based NGO, FUNVIVE, founded by Dr. Manuel Diaz:

Scientists, academics, business people, government leaders, young Innovators and changemakers from all over the world, to register as participants, attendees or become a POP Youth Committee Members for the POP Festival.

POP Festival is a platform for the youth who strive to build conviction on the dire need to mobilize action and build a social movement for combating the issue of climate change and environmental degradation.

Who can participate?

If you consider yourself a YOUNG INNOVATOR and/or a CHANGEMAKER, sign up to present your project/initiative that you have designed!

The event is also open for ALL, including scientists, academics, business people, and government leaders.

How can you be engaged?

image003-1If you have a running project or have one in mind waiting to be implemented, submit your project through the Pre-Registration portal before 10 November, 2020 - 11.59 PM CST

Requirements (POP Movement encourages you to be creative and innovative, these are only suggestions, it does not mean you need to follow them exactly):

1. Presentation format:

The projects should be presented in an innovative and creative format, for example, music, dance, theatre, film, photographs, workshops, art, games, interactive presentations and so on.

2. The project should be related to the following subjects or any other related with the environment:

    1. Energy Efficiency
    2. Transportation
    3. Water Management
    4. Waste Management
    5. Sustainable Food
    6. Ecosystems and Biodiversity

3. Evaluation criteria:

  • Innovative and creative projects
  • Social and environmental benefits
  • Relevance and viability
  • Scope of the project
  • Sustainability and replicability of the project

4. Prizes:

All participants will receive a certificate to acknowledge their contribution to the festival. The winners will receive surprise prize.

Requirements:

    • Active learning, with the ability to adapt in a multicultural environment.
    • Minimum age of 12 years (there is no maximum age limit).
    • Knowledge of Spanish or English.
    • Commitment to mobilize youth from your region and the world to Protect Our Planet.
    • Interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to work with local people and organizations.
    • Ability to adapt to different schedules of work and time zones.
    • Preferably experience on international events, or an active POP Member.
