POP Palettes has been conceived as a performance and visual arts initiative dedicated to Nature and Planet Earth. To kick off POP Palettes, artists will be pulling together the first virtual performance on the World Environment Day – 5th June 2020.

POP Movement
The Protect our Planet (POP) Movement, founded on Earth Day in 2016, seeks to mobilize action by youth across the world. 5th June 2020 will mark 45 years since the World Environment Day was founded. POP Movement in collaboration with the World Sustainable Development Forum (WSDF) seeks to mobilize people from around the world using the medium of performing and visual arts. This is where POP Palettes comes in.
POP Palettes
Whether it is inspiring palettes of painters or songs and dance inspired by nature, Artists have turned to nature when they have needed inspiration for performing and visual arts. POP Palettes has been conceived as a performance and visual arts initiative dedicated to Nature and Planet Earth. POP Palettes is a dance, music and visual arts initiative for all generations and is a part of the POP Movement (www.thepopmovement.org).
Virtual event
To kick off POP Palettes, performers and artists will be pulling together the first virtual performance on the World Environment Day on 5th June 2020. This virtual performance will focus on dance and songs. An open call will be sent to individuals from the POP-WSDF networks and to other networks of the organizers to contribute short videos of their dance and song performance. This will be then compiled in a video called ‘POP Palettes’. The video will be premiered on 5th June through the POP YouTube Channel.
How to be a part of POP Palettes?
As a performer
Record your videos of your introduction along with dance or song performance for POP Palettes. This can be done in four easy steps:
Step 1: Have a steady video recording setup viz. tripod phone camera setup or have someone with steady hands record your video. Please ensure that the recording is in a horizontal mode for YouTube
Step 2: Record the first video with one sentence introducing yourself and what you can do for the earth or to protect our planet
Step 3: Record the second video of your dance or song performance (the performance should be related to nature)
Step 4: Email your video along with your name, occupation, a quote on the environment and about your performance to powertonature@gmail.com and contact@thepopmovement.org
