On November 7, 2018, the POP team visited the Universidad Autonoma de Zacatecas (UAZ) and held a meeting with Dra. Patricia de Lira Gómez, Directora de Minas Y Metalurgía, MC. Pedro Zezati del Villar, Director de Agronomía, Dr. Marco López Carlos, Director de Veterinaria, Dr. Santiago Valle, Responsable del Programa de Ciencias Ambientales and MC. Hans Hiram Pacheco, Director de Psicología. The meeting was followed by a workshop with more than a 100 students of the school of psychology, where students were celebrating ‘Environment Week’. A majority of the students identified pollution on account of smoking and cigarette stubs being a big problem on campus and wish to take initiative to recycle cigarette stubs (e.g. using it as insulation for buildings). The POP Movement is forming a partnership with UAZ to implement the POP Movement on its 4 campuses comprising 40,000 students.
