From 08 to 12 May 2026, Sibonile Myambo conducted a POP species knowledge and tree nursery skills and management survey across preschools, supporting efforts to strengthen environmental education and future tree plantation activities.

The survey involved visiting preschools and engaging with participants to understand their existing knowledge and identify gaps related to tree species, nursery skills and tree management. The findings provided valuable insights for shaping future tree plantation activities and environmental workshops, ensuring that upcoming interventions are aligned with the needs and knowledge levels of the participating schools.

The activity, aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), saw 100% participation from the preschools involved, with approximately 75% active participation and engagement demonstrated through creativity, interest and dedication. The survey marked an important first step towards building stronger foundations for tree nursery education and management.
