Young Voices Exploring What It Means to Care for Our Planet and Each Other

The POP Movement has been invited to participate in The Sound of Care Symposium, a global online event organized by one of its partner organizations. Taking place on 19 September 2026, the symposium will bring together voices from different parts of the world to reflect on the meaning and importance of care in responding to the challenges facing people, communities, and the planet.

As part of the program, young people from the POP family will have the opportunity to share their experiences, their connection with the POP Movement, and how their work relates to the broader idea of caring for the planet and for others.

Giving Space to Youth Voices

Each participating young person will have approximately three minutes to respond to one of a set of thought-provoking questions, creating a space for personal reflection and youth perspectives on climate action, leadership, advocacy, and community engagement.

The conversation will explore questions such as:

• Why does caring matter, and how can it change the way we respond to the challenges around us?
• What does the POP Movement represent to you as a young person?
• When did you realize that your voice could make a difference in your community or in the world?
• What happens when young people stop waiting for change and start creating it themselves?
• If you could ask people around the world to care about one thing more deeply, what would it be—and why?

Through these reflections, the participation of POP youth will bring forward the personal values, experiences, and motivations behind climate action and advocacy. It will also highlight the diverse ways in which young people understand their responsibility towards communities, future generations, and the natural world.

POP Youth: From Caring to Action

The Sound of Care Symposium provides another opportunity for the POP family to demonstrate that climate action is not only about policies, technologies, and solutions—it is also about people, values, empathy, responsibility, and the willingness to care enough to act.

By bringing young POP voices into this global conversation, the Movement continues to create spaces where young people can share their stories, express their values, and inspire meaningful action for a healthier and more sustainable world.
