POP Youth Leader with the students of Ositelu Memorial College, Ogere Ogun State, Nigeria

November 27, 2021

On November 7, 2021,Ibrahim Adams, a POP youth leader from Nigeria, sensitized over 300 students from the Ositelu Memorial College, Ogere Ogun State, Nigeria on climate change, its impacts and the solutions addressing it. He emphasized the importance of individual efforts in activities like tree plantation, cleaning of parks and river banks, and other ways of protecting the natural ecosystem.

A Fellow of Teach for Nigeria, Ibrahim Adams was inspired by the climate education training provided by the POP Nigeria Initiative in August and wished to replicate the same with the students in his community.

“I embarked on a transformational journey for a three-day intensive training with the POP Nigeria Initiative on ‘OkaClimate Advocacy and Leadership’, a programme led by Samuel Chijioke Okorie & his indomitable team of climate advocates. Each session of the training program opened my eyes to the fact that climate change is a reality – and education is the best defense.”
