On March 4, 2021, Honorary POP Ocean Mentor Ana Hanhausen interviewed Madhvi Chittoor, a 9-year-old activist based in the United States who is also known as the No Styrofoam Ninja. Madhvi’s impressive career as an activist includes the composition of a renowned music album and the publication of seven different books as well, including “Is Plastic My Food?”. With her campaign “Save our climate, health, waterways and soil. Break free from Plastic, Styrofoam, Glyphosate, PFAs/PCOs”, Madhvi seeks to create change at a personal and governmental level. In December 2020, Madhvi was recognized by Peace Jam as the best up and coming peacemaker.

During the interview, her advice for the youth was that they make every effort to lead an eco-conscious life while standing up and raising their voice. Furthermore, addressing the political leaders at large, Madhvi asked for them to come together to form a global plastic policy to protect ecosystems.
