On 17 June 2026, Mthunzi Trust, led by POP Initiative Mentor Symon Satiele, conducted an awareness session at Maya Private Secondary School in Lilongwe, engaging 70 Form 4 students under the theme “Youth Involvement in Sustainable Development Goals, Social Media and Opportunities.”

The session introduced students to the Sustainable Development Goals and explored how young people can contribute to sustainable development in their communities. Discussions covered quality education, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, decent work, climate action, and life on land, helping learners connect the global goals with their own aspirations and responsibilities.

The session also highlighted the responsible use of social media as a tool for learning, personal development and career opportunities. Students were encouraged to use digital platforms to access information, discover opportunities and build skills for their future. The engagement strengthened their understanding that young people can play an active role in advancing sustainable development and climate action within their communities.
