Dr. Ash Pachauri and Dr. Saroj Pachauri, mentors of the POP Movement, hosted a special session on the intersections of climate and health for approximately 80 incoming freshmen at Princeton University. These students, embarking on their studies in medicine, health, and environmental science, attended the session at the Retreat Center in Deer Park, Pennsylvania. Set amidst the tranquility of nature, Deer Park provided an ideal setting for discussions on climate change, health, and community work. The 45-minute session included interactive energizers, games, pop quizzes, and an informative presentation on the environmental determinants of health, community action, peace, and social justice. At the conclusion of the session, Dr. Saroj Pachauri awarded token prizes to the “POP Star” quiz competition winners, including copies of the POP Academy’s Climate Action and Climate and Health books. Special thanks were extended to Madhalasa Iyer, a Princeton University student and young leader, for her invaluable invitation, organization of this significant session, and the privilege shared with the POP Movement.
