On 01 July 2026, Mthunzi Trust, led by POP Initiative Mentor Symon Satiele, conducted an awareness session at Chimwasongo Primary School in Lilongwe Rural East, engaging learners from Standard 1 to 7 in discussions on Malawi Vision 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals.

The session introduced young learners to the importance of gender equality, climate action and the protection of life on land, while helping them understand how these global goals connect with Malawi’s long-term development vision. The discussion encouraged learners to recognise their role in contributing to sustainable development and building a better future for their communities.

A key outcome of the activity was the formation of a school environmental club, with 50 learners becoming its founding members. The enthusiastic participation of the learners marked an important step towards creating a sustained platform for environmental awareness and youth-led climate action within the school.
