As a part of the climate education and tree planting project, sixth activity was conducted on “Climate Justice” with an objective to address protected areas for biodiversity with Grade 8 and 9 students at Kaunda Square Primary School on October 04, 2022 with the support of Ministry of Education Zambia, Needs for Orphans Foundation, United People Global, and UN MGCY by the POP Zambia Initiative facilitating team including Gift Mwanza, Blessington Lweendo, Lauren Kangwa, Mapalo Banda, and Titus Mabuya.

During the activity, the facilitators managed to reach out and educate learners on the impact and consequences of climate change while promoting sustainable living. The knowledge gap was identified as some learners lacked information, especially the junior secondary who didn’t know what SDGs are and the impact of climate change. Around 96 school students were directly impacted and promised to come back and plant trees together with the POP Zambia in the second quarter of the project.
